Compared to our own Center Block Panther (loaded with the same High Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups), the Falcon has a considerably bigger plugged-in voice in the neck position, with huge depth for honeyed jazz chords, but still plenty of top-end bite when you pick hard at the bridge during solos. In the search for the next Gretsch, I just look at the pro-line guitars, and actually, it makes me a more selective shopper. Since I’ve already tried out an Electromatic for a few weeks, I don’t have to go that route again. Does it make me better because it’s expensive? Hell no, I still suck.īut I don’t sit down and play with a guitar that I talked myself into. How many guitar players have bought low or mid tier level Gretsch’s, but end up getting the top tier down the road? And I’m asking this as a rookie. But feeling wise, I’m playing the top production Gretsch you can buy.Īsk around. A tad thinner than an Electromatic, and I would play either just as bad. So, fast forward to a few weeks ago…the hollow body I now have is a G6120 BSNV. Something just didn’t feel right about the g5410. Yes, they are different sizes and sound different. I don’t want to have a cheaper version of a better guitar. Maybe I’m spoiled ( yes), but a guitar will be with you for a lifetime. I unboxed it, opened the case for inspection and within the first few seconds of holding that guitar… It was game over for the Electromatic. Whilst still in my possession, the g6659 Player’s Edition Broadkaster arrived. I bought a g5410 and took full advantage of GC’s 45-day return window. My experience pertains to deciding which guitar to keep. Check Price, Specifications, Features & Reviews on. I do want to get another hollowbody to turn into a guitar for a certain style of music that I want to start learning, now it's not a style I will play much so for this I will go on the cheaper side as I can't justify a pro level instrument for something I won't use as much, so as much as I am toting pro level instruments I believe it comes down to what you can justify yourself. Buy Gretsch G6136T Falcon Players Edition Electric Guitar - White Online at Best Price in India. I have pro lines and 2 electromatics, I wouldn't trade my penguin for anything and would buy it again at full price if I had too, my G5230T is also great and not going anywhere, it shares just as much play time as the others as I believe the electro lines are great guitars for the money. I can't comment between the two guitars you are choosing from as I haven't played either but yes there is a noticeable difference between the prolines and the electromatic series, the electronics are better, the pick ups are better, the fit and finish is close but still the prolines have it over the electro's and a few other things too, but as said it is up to the individual to make the call on whether they are worth the extra money. I think the Electromatic guitars are great, but I love some honest feed back on how much better would this Players Edition actually feel/play/sound?Īgain I truly am thankful for anyone taking the time out of their day to help me. I want to think this $3600 Gretsch would be the same. the regular ES-335 there was a noticeable difference in the playability, the build and sound of the Custom version. Getting my hands on some Gibson ES-335s are a lot easier, and I’ll say when I play a Custom ES-335 vs. But can any of you experts help me justify the price? Obviously there is no comparison in my eyes to how sexy a White Falcon is, especially a double cutaway. But is it really that much better than a Electromatic Semi Hallow? I’m sure the pickups are better but that’s only a few hundred dollar upgrade, not a few thousand. I’m absolutely in love with this Players Edition White Falcon. I really want a semi hallow because of the amount of gain I enjoy using. I am having a hard time finding one of these Players Edition G6636T White Falcon semi hallows to play locally, so I’d really love to get some advice. I’ve been getting some much needed help here on this form, so first off I’d like to thank everyone.
